The HospiceCare Foundation

For 30 years, HospiceCare has filled a very basic need in our community—the need of those with life-limiting conditions to live fully as they near the end of life. We’ve made it possible for people to live their final months with respect and dignity at home, without pain, with a 24-hour care team just a phone call away. And we’ve ensured that their families can survive the loss in a healthy way. Over those 30 years, our values and commitment to our community have not changed.

The HospiceCare Foundation is a community of donors who share the value of a healthy end-of-life journey. Their support has helped us enhance the quality of our service and expand our reach to all those who need us.

Your gifts make our community a better place to live because they not only help people at the end of life live more fully, but they also ensure that surviving caregivers, families and friends can recover from their losses, too.

How Your Gift Can Help

Medicare, Medicaid and most commercial insurers provide basic hospice benefits to people in our community. However, HospiceCare is committed to providing a higher level of care. This means we deliver more services, and we serve those who may be uninsured or underinsured.

Your gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and support:

Charity care – To support uninsured and underinsured patients.

Respite care – To support in-home caregivers who need a break from 24-hour care of a loved one.

Grief counseling and support – To support any member of our community who needs professional grief support at no charge.

Patient assistance – To help patients and families achieve end-of-life goals that are not covered by insurance or family funds, for example, a burial dress, a birthday cake, etc.

Palliative Care Fellowship – A program developed in collaboration with the UW Hospital & Clinics and Madison VA Hospital to train the next generation of palliative healthcare providers to ensure the ongoing improvement of end-of-life care.

Future needs – To build a six-month reserve that provides liquidity as well as funds to address emerging end-of-life care needs as they arise in the community.

“HospiceCare showed our mother and family wonderful care and compassion. It was a blessing that Mom was able to be at HospiceCare those last few days. All of the staff and volunteers helped to make her so much more comfortable and peaceful, which was what she deserved. Mom believed so strongly in all that HospiceCare provides for the community, and she would be so pleased with the memorials to HospiceCare in her name. What you provide for individuals and families is invaluable and we appreciate greatly all you have done for all of us.”
